IMPORTANT NOTES
‣Fell running soles are highly recommended for the volcano sections of this course.
*The volcano sections can be extremely muddy and slippery if it rains. These shoes are most necessary in the section from El Porvenir to Hacienda Merida (Volcan Maderas section)
‣Due to changes in climate zones during the course, temperatures can range from 100-60 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Bring proper clothing for these extremes, you must be prepared for severe weather changes.
‣Bring plenty of bug repellent and sunscreen.
RULES & REGULATIONS
‣The course will be marked with Orange/Blue Flagging, Arrows and Marking Chalk.
‣Cutoff times are as follows:
‣(25k-6 hours)(50k-12 hours)(100k-24 hours)
‣Runners must have a colored bracelet put on at every Aid Station.
*25k runners should finish with 3 bracelets - 50k runners should finish with a total of 3 bracelets – 100k runners should finish with a total of 7 bracelets.
‣Runners are allowed to stop for aid at non-Aid Station locations such as stores, restaurants, hostels along the course.
‣Runner’s are NOT allowed to take rides of any sort during the course of the race
*Motorcycles, Bicycles, Cars, Trucks, Horses, Cows, etc.. are NOT allowed.
‣Runner’s must report to the nearest Aid Station race official if they need to drop from the race.
*This is imperative, otherwise we will be out looking for you.
‣ If you drop from the race, we cannot guarantee you a ride back to the start/finish right away.
*buses and taxis are available throughout the island, if you are near an Aid Station location, you can catch a ride with the volunteers once the station is packed up
GENERAL COURSE NOTES
‣50k & 100k races all run the same course, the 50k course ends at Hacienda Merida.
*Rides from Hacienda Merida back to the start will be available for 50k runners.
‣The 25k course will cover the Volcan Concepcion climb and will be an out and back course with three Aid Stations
